Today, I'd like to introduce a renovation where we took a magnificent 1-carat diamond ring and refashioned it into a necklace.
Making a classic prong setting ring more wearable
The client brought us a classic prong-set ring, where the diamond was securely held in a high setting. While the bold design is appealing, the "height" and "size of the prongs" can sometimes make it difficult to wear today.
"I felt that if I left it as is, it would just stay in storage forever."
With that thought, the renovation into a necklace began.
The design request was "simple" and in "pink gold"
During our consultation, the client clearly stated:
"From now on, I only want to wear pink gold!"
It was truly wonderful to see that she knew what colors suited her best.
So, I proposed a clean and light design that included:
・A sleek, small stone setting
・Six prongs to hold the stone securely, while being as inconspicuous as possible
・A delicate adzuki chain for a casual, directly attached style
Deciding on the "best length" for the necklace together
"This position is best," the client said, pointing to her neck.
We measured it with a tape measure and decided on a choker-style 36cm.
The finished necklace was thus:
A piece perfectly suited for the "current client," effortlessly highlighting a large diamond in a simple way.
The completed necklace and a happy reunion
"The design and length are exactly as I imagined! I'm so happy. I'll wear it every day,"
the client said, delighted.
After that, every time she visited,
I would see her wearing that necklace,
and I'd secretly pump my fist in my heart. (lol)
Renovation that breathes new life into jewelry
Jewelry truly "comes to life" when it's worn.
This renovation was very memorable, making me feel that anew.
I am truly happy that I could help a cherished ring that had been put away
be reborn as "a necklace you want to wear every day."
