Good morning everyone,
This is Oomori, the designer.
Thank you for always patronizing 440showroom.
Today, I'd like to share a wonderful episode that was born from the warm connections I have with all of you.
Recently, a customer who regularly uses 440showroom came to consult about jewelry reform, bringing her sister-in-law with her.
Her sister-in-law carefully kept beautiful jewelry inherited from her mother, and among them, a mysterious water opal cabochon particularly caught our eye.
She wanted to remount this cabochon, which she had only admired for a long time, into a ring along with her memories.

Opal cabochon before reform
Actually, the sister-in-law, who really liked this opal, had been considering a reform based on the design of 440's 2024SS collection black pearl ring.

I also resonated with that idea and felt it would result in a design that would highlight the generous thickness and mystical glow of the opal.
However, since pearls and opals differ in shape and light properties, careful consideration was needed for the design.
Therefore, I took custody of the opal, developed a detailed design, and later proposed it to the customer (sister-in-law).
She was very pleased and looked forward to the finished product.
The completed ring features a platinum setting that maximizes the play-of-color of the opal, with diamonds meticulously hand-set by artisans along the curves.
The ring turned out to be one that conveys the strength and gentleness of the water opal, without being overshadowed by the brilliance of the diamonds.

I am deeply grateful for being able to help shape our customer's precious memories, and for the bond with customers who support 440showroom daily, which became an opportunity to weave a new jewelry story.
Thanks to all of you, I am truly delighted to have shared such a wonderful jewelry reform process.
We have also undertaken several other reforms from this customer, in addition to the water opal ring.
I will share those episodes later. Stay tuned.
